The Mandarin Oriental Tokyo opened its doors in December 2005 as the 22nd hotel of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, located in Nihonbashi, Tokyo. The hotel is situated in the high-rise building "Nihonbashi Mitsui Tower," which is near Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi. The guest rooms occupy the upper floors of the building, from the 30th to the 36th floor, offering stunning night views. The hotel is also close to the Tokyo Skytree, and you can see the Skytree from the windows. The motto of the hotel is "Sense of Place," which means respecting the culture and history of the location where the hotel is built, and incorporating that taste into the hotel. At Mandarin Oriental Tokyo, they focus on "kimono fabric," which has deep connections with Nihonbashi, and many fabrics are integrated throughout the hotel. All these fabrics are original to the hotel and made by Japanese artisans.

The service at Mandarin Oriental Tokyo is of remarkably high quality among the hotels I have stayed at, and I feel that every time I stay there. The staff also speak in a friendly manner, and there has never been an instance where I felt uncomfortable or found myself thinking, "Is something off?" while staying there.
